Trion 707U Humidifier System

Installation and Operation Instructions

Unpack & Inspect: Carefully unpack unit checking to see no damage occurred in shipping. If any damage is apparent, file claim with delivering carrier ASAP.

Location: Humidifier should be mounted at least 5' above floor level and at least 2' below the ceiling. Discharge Dome should be directed into open area of the room and with no obstruction within 6' of the discharge vapor stream. Note: Condensation could form on Cooling Equipment when humidifier is located too close to it.

Mounting Bracket: Position wire bracket to wall and mark screw hole locations. Attach corners with four (4) 3/4" sheet metal screws; move side adjusting arms vertically until shelf is level - mark hole locations and use two (2) 3/4" sheet metal screws to fasten side arms.

Mounting Unit: Carefully rotate Impeller making sure it turns freely before mounting the unit. Mount the Humidifier with the Float Valve connection at the most convenient location which provides the minimum amount of obstruction to traffic. Be sure reservoir feet DO NOT rest on wire bracket. Reservoir should be level when positioned on wire bracket.

Water Supply: Place compression nut on water tubing with threads toward tubing end. Slide Delrin Sleeve over tubing toward compression nut. Press tube insert into water tubing. NOTE: Heat end of tubing in hot water to ease insertion of adapter into tubing. Slide Compression Nut over sleeve and insert; fasten securely to thread end of Float and Valve Assembly. Be sure Float and Valve Assembly does not turn when tightening compression nut.

Saddle Valve Assembly on Copper Pipe:
CAUTION: Do not turn handle before or while installing Saddle Valve, damage to the piercing needle could result.
A) Clamp the Valve and Saddle Bracket Assembly to nearest cold water copper line so the outlet is in a convenient direction.
B) Saddle Brackets should be parallel. Position screws evenly through Saddle Bracket.
C) Place compression nut over water tubing with threads toward tube end. Insert tube adapter into water tubing. Slide compression nut over adapter and fasten securely to threaded outlet of the Saddle Valve. IMPORTANT: Should you fail to do this before piercing the tube, water will escape from the outlet until the tube is fully pierced.
D) Turn the handle clockwise until you feel the valve stem firmly seated into the valve body. NOTE: The tubing is now pierced and the valve is closed.
E) Turn the handle counter clockwise to open the valve.

Floats have been factory adjusted to maintain 1-1/2" of water in pan at normal water pressure. Bend float rod to maintain water at other pressure.

Saddle Valve Assembly on Steel or Brass Pipe:
A) Shut off water supply and drain water from line.
B) Drill a 3/16" hole in top or side of pipe.
C) Turn handle of valve to expose lance beyond the rubber gasket.
D) Attach assembly to pipe following Steps 3c-d above.

CAUTION: Upon initial fill of bottom pan, adjust the mechanical float so the water level is 1.5" from the pan bottom.

It is also necessary to plumb the overflow fitting on the side of the pan to a drain using 1/2" tubing. This will prevent damage of property in the event of a mechanical malfunction of the Float and Valve Assembly.

Electrical Connection:
A) Mount humidistat in a suitable location at a minimum distance of five feet from the humidifier and about 4-1/2' above the floor. Be sure that the humidistat is not in the path of the vapor stream and out of the direct sun.
B) Provide for an electrical connection from a wall outlet with hot, common and ground. (Do Not Plug Into The Wall Outlet Until All Connections Are Made.)

Operation:
The humidistat control has numbers listed on the face plate which are NOT accurate humidity setting. A separate digital or analog hygrometer gauge is needed to provide an accurate humidity reading. Your setting will vary depending on the humidity level you desire and the size of your room. After installing, turn dial all the way OFF. Get a base line reading of the current humidity from the hygrometer gauge. Once a base line is established, turn the dial up slowly to where the system turns on. Let the unit run and cycle on and off  for several hours. Recheck your hygrometer gauge to see the new humidity level. Repeat this process until you reach the proper humidity you desire. Please take your time with this process.
